Presented in partnership with XL Catlin Property Risk Engineering/GAPS
The Certified Fire Protection Specialist Board (CFPS) was formed in 1971 for the purpose of documenting competency and offering professional recognition for individuals involved in fire protection, fire safety, and fire prevention. The CFPS board credential has been awarded to more than 2,000 professionals and is internationally recognized as a mark of achievement within the fire protection field.
Fire protection engineers routinely engage with a broad range of professionals including risk managers, loss control specialists, fire officers, fire marshals, fire inspectors, safety managers, fire protection consultants, designers, code enforcers, loss prevention professionals, building code officials, commercial real estate managers and others who have responsibilities dealing with the application of fire safety, fire protection, prevention, and suppression technologies. SFPE® supports increasing the education level and credentials of all who work in the fire protection field, as well as elevating the overall knowledge level about fire protection to reduce fire risk.
While the CFPS does not constitute any part of the requirements for Professional Engineering (PE) licensure, SFPE possesses a great deal of knowledge on the subject of fire protection, which can play an important role in the success of those pursuing the CFPS credential. The CFPS online review course is designed to help participants effectively prepare for the CFPS exam.
This educational online course will help you navigate the NFPA Fire Protection Handbook, which is the basis for the exam, and will allow for maximum retention and time to review between the sessions. Course participants will have access to three interactive two-hour sessions, and will have the opportunity to ask questions as they arise throughout each session. Recordings of each session will also be available.
