Public Policy Task Group

Mission:

To evaluate public policy issues that are important to the Society Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and the fire protection engineering profession and make recommendations to the SFPE Board of Directors in regards to these issues. The Task Group will be responsible for the following:
- Study legislation related to fire protection engineering public policy
- Review policy proposals from other organizations that request the Society's endorsement
- Recommend topics for new SFPE position statements
- Recommend revisions to existing SFPE position statements
- Advise the SFPE Board of Directors on public policy issues that impact the Society
- Work with local SFPE Chapters on any endorsements or position statements they are looking to make
