Chapter Events

The Chapter Golf Outing was held June 22, 2007 at Willow Run Golf Course near Pataskla, Ohio. There were 36 golfers that enjoyed a great day golf, a steak dinner, and fabulous door prizes.  This years winner was Mark Bowman, with a score of 82.  The handicap winner was Chris Young with a net score of 67.  Skins winners included Andy Zannin, Ron Engstrom, Harry McNamee, John Paulsen and Todd Barber.  Look for next years outing on June 27, 2008. 

On January 24, 2007, we held our second Burn Center Appreciation Event. The event was held at the Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe. The purpose of the event was to thank all of the volunteers, sponsors, and golf outing committee for all of hard work and support of this outing. It was also an opportunity to share information on SFPE and the OSU Burn Center.

The program included a discussion about the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and the role of Fire Protection Engineers conducted by Mark Bowman. Then Bob Dawson discussed the history of the golf outing, dating back to the early days when the outing was sponsor by the Ohio Fire Suppression Association. Next, Dr. Miller talked about the Burn Center and how the funds are used. He also talked about the future of the Burn Center and the future participation in the golf outing. After the presentations, SFPE presented at check for $12,000 to the Burn Center.
