2013 Conferemce and Exhibition: Fire New Zealand
Sponsored by the SFPE New Zealand Chapter
October 22 - 23, 2013
Call For Papers: FireNZ 2013 – Conference Theme : Added Value – It is Worth It! The FireNZ 2013 Conference and Exhibition theme - “Added Value : It is worth it!” – is relevant to the individuals and organisations involved in the fire industry. It is intended to be thought provoking and challenging to everyone involved in Fire Protection and Safety, directly or indirectly. In today’s environment customers, clients, and stakeholders expect much more from our staff and our organisations.
One of the catch phrases we hear and express is that, in everything we do we have to add value. Yet we are increasingly asked to reduce or minimize costs by reducing margins or looking for trade-offs. It should be about quality and value over the whole of a building’s or system’s life, not simply immediate cost. The question we end up asking is – Is Added Value Worth It?
For this year’s conference, we are looking for speakers who will address this question and the notion of Added Value. These papers should provide some thought provoking discussion on whether, in the current economic environment, “Added Value” within the fire industry sector is worth it, and what this means for the wider fire industry given the boom-bust nature of construction activity in New Zealand.
To register your interest, please submit a Paper Title and Synopsis addressing this theme, and a brief biography. This should be sent direct to Irma@fireprotection.org.nz by no later than Friday 5th April 2013.
