New SFPE On-Demand Course: Introduction to Ethics for Fire Protection Engineers

In the practice of fire protection and safety engineering, professionals must maintain and constantly improve their competence and perform under a standard of professional behavior that requires adherence to the highest principles of ethical conduct. This 1-hour on-demand course covers ethics for the Fire Protection Engineer. The self-guided course will provide an overview of ethics and the practice of engineering and how it relates to ethics. It will also explain the ethical obligations an engineer must hold themselves to. The SFPE Code of Ethics is referenced and discussed in depth, and finally, this course will discuss typical ethical challenges faced in the field and a discussion of case studies to help you apply what you’ve learned. 

The “SFPE Introduction to Ethics for Fire Protection Engineers” course has been developed to comply with many states’ requirements for continuing education credits and engineering ethics training; the course is eligible for 1.0 Professional Development Hour (PDH).
