Human Behavior in Fire Task Group

Mission

The Task Group on Human Behavior will develop guidance on accounting for human behavior in engineered fire protection design. Topics to be considered include response to cues, pre-movement activities, predicting egress time and the effects of hazardous conditions on human behavior.

Current Activity

The SFPE Human Behavior Task Group has approved the first draft of the 2nd edition of the SFPE Guide to Human Behavior in Fire. The first draft is currently being considered by the SFPE Subcommittee for Standards Oversight (SCSO) for a policy review to approve for public comment. If approved by the SCSO, the document will go out to public review during the first week of November.
