Join Us in Warsaw for the 11th Conference on Performance-Based Codes & Fire Safety Design Methods

Have you registered for the 11th Conference on Performance-Based Codes and Fire Safety Design Methods yet? If not, don't delay--register and book your hotel room today so you don't miss out on what promises to be an exceptional event.

Held biennially since 1996, this conference has an established global reputation as the premier international event for professionals involved in fire safety engineering, regulations development and enforcement, testing, standards of development and engineering design methods. The 11th Conference on Performance-Based Codes and Fire Safety Design will address newly emerging technologies and showcase the state of the art in performance-based code approaches and engineering design methods. This year’s program, spearheaded by Conference program chair Piotr Tofilo, Ph.D., The Main School of Fire Service / Polish SFPE Chapter is no exception. The program boasts educational session led by experts in the field across two tracks covering:

  • Applications in FSE, Framework, & Life Safety
  • Fire Models
  • Human Behavior / Egress
  • Regulation
  • Risk
  • Smoke
  • Structural in Applications & Concrete

You can view the complete program here.

In addition to the technical sessions, we are fortunate to have a great lineup of keynote speakers:

Kathleen H. Almand, PE, FSFPE, Vice President, Research, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)

Ricky Carvel, Ph.D., Lecturer, University of Edinburgh

Charles Fleischmann, Ph.D., FSFPE, Professor, University of Canterbury

Björn Karlsson, Ph.D., Director General, Iceland Construction Authority

William E. Koffel, Jr., PE, FSFPE, President, Koffel Associates, Inc.

Daniel Nilsson, Ph.D., FSE, Department of Fire Safety Engineering and Systems Safety, Lund University

Guillermo Rein, Ph.D., Reader in Thermal Energy, Department of Mechanical Engineering of Imperial College and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Fire Technology

Piotr Tofilo, Ph.D., The Main School of Fire Service / Polish SFPE Chapter

Christopher Wieczorek, Ph.D., Group Manager Fire & Explosion Protection, FM Global

SFPE is also offering two Professional Development Seminars that will take place 26-27 May. The first is Introduction to Fire Risk Assessment, which is intended for fire protection engineers and individuals interested in the application of risk assessment in fire protection design. Those who would benefit from this seminar include fire protection and systems engineers, fire protection risk managers, insurance professionals, quality control engineers, architects and others interested in preparing fire risk assessment reports for application to buildings designs utilizing both performance-based and prescriptive code design methodologies. The second is Introduction to Industrial Fire Protection Engineering, intended for engineers and technicians interested in expanding their knowledge and understanding of the application of fire protection engineering design to industrial facilities. Those involved in the design, operation, emergency response, and risk management of industrial facilities will benefit from this seminar.

We hope you’ll join us in Warsaw for this internationally-renowned event showcasing the latest and greatest performance-based code approaches and engineering design methods.Register now to take advantage of early-bird discount rates and to secure your hotel room before the room block sells out.
