North America Conference & Expo: Accent on Fire Protection Engineering

Call for Proposals Open Now

SFPE is now accepting presentation abstracts for the 2017 North America Conference & Expo, October 8-13, 2017 at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, Canada. The theme of the conference is Accent on Fire Protection Engineering and the event will showcase advanced and cutting-edge practices in fire protection engineering used to protect people, property and the environment from fire.

We invite you to share your expertise on the advances in fire protection engineering by submitting a presentation abstract today. Presentation abstracts should provide sufficient detail regarding scope, results and applications to determine the quality and applicability of the engineering concepts that would be presented. References, where applicable, should be included. Presentations will be 25 minutes in length with 5 minutes for Q&A and must be noncommercial.

For 2017, the conference planning committee has developed the following list of topics that we would like this year’s program to include. Please consider these topics as you prepare your abstract, and forward to peers who may be interested in presenting on one of these topics.

  • Application and Use of SFPE Guides and Standards (Case Studies)
  • Aviation Fire Safety
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Changes to the SFPE 5th Edition of the Handbook
  • Counterfeit Fire and Life Safety Products

  • Marine Fire Safety
  • Historical Buildings
  • Human Behavior
  • Regulatory Policy and How it Affects Fire Protection Engineers
  • Research and Testing (Protecting High Storage Areas Over 50ft, New Applications)
  • Security Conflicts and Life Safety
