The SFPE European Conference & Expo on Fire Safety Engineering returns in 2027, bringing together the world’s leading thinkers, researchers, and practitioners to advance the science and practice of fire safety engineering. As one of the premier global forums for technical exchange, this conference showcases the highest level of scientific approaches, engineering innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in our field.

We invite fire safety professionals from every sector (engineers, researchers, designers, regulators, insurers, developers, and building stakeholders) to submit abstracts that introduce new knowledge, emerging research, innovative methodologies, or forward-looking applications that will shape the future of fire safety.

  • The application of emerging technologies through performance-based design (engineered timber buildings, novel fire safety systems, novel operational strategies).
  • Building envelope (cladding, facades, living walls, photovoltaics etc.).
  • Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence applications and AI-enabled Fire Safety Engineering.
  • Fire Safety innovation and solutions for existing / cultural / heritage buildings.

  • Human behaviour & evacuation (anthropometric studies, decision modelling, mass evacuation, crowd event prevention, human interaction with safety systems etc.).

  • Sustainability, circular economy, resilience and climate adaptation in the built environment.
  • Fire safety governance, enforcement and compliance: integrating performance-based design and risk based approaches.
