This presentation examines the application and limitations of oxygen reduction systems (ORS) as an alternative to traditional sprinkler protection in warehouses and automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). It summarizes FM guidance and full-scale fire testing used to determine limiting oxygen concentrations for fire propagation across different commodities, storage arrangements, and container contents. The presentation also highlights critical design, monitoring, operational, and emergency-response considerations needed for reliable ORS protection.
