SFPE Seminars Are a Smart Way to Advance Your Career

SFPE is offering two seminars on current trends, resources, and insights into handling flammable and combustible liquids and smoke control this September 11-14 at the WPI Campus Center in Worcester, MA. These seminars are designed in mind for the architectural, chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineer, because you can never know too much about handling flammable liquids or controlling smoke during a fire event. They are also applicable for the designers, inspectors, and plan reviewers working with scenarios that have flammable or combustible liquids or utilize smoke control methods.Take a step towards advancing your career by attending one of these seminars and earn up to 1.4 CEUs.

Protecting Flammable and Combustible Liquids, September 11-12. This seminarwill provide basic knowledge of protection options in the internationally used NFPA 30, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, and testing programs that may become the basis for future editions of NFPA 30. Topics include an overview of the latest NFPA 30 document, fire test results that have become requirements in NFPA 30, current and future fire testing for protecting flammable and combustible liquids, and how to apply NFPA 30 requirements using two real-life case studies involving storage of flammable or combustible liquids. Earn 14 PDHs | 1.4 CEUs

Smoke Control Essentials, September 13-14. This seminaris an essential part of effective fire strategies for innovative buildings and structures around the world. Through case studies, interactive lectures and small teams working with practical examples, the course provides the fundamental concepts and underlying principles of state-of-the-art systems, with a focus on practical design. Each participants will get a copy of the Handbook of Smoke Control Engineering, 2012 edition. Earn 13 PDHs | 1.3 CEUs.
