2019 is an exciting year for SFPE and we are inviting you, our members and experts, to join our Content Development Teams.

These teams will create and update the Society’s educational content and allow us to deliver the highest quality educational material on fire protection engineering globally. With oversight from the Course Content and Delivery (CCD) Subcommittee these teams will work to create both in-person seminars and on-line course content, aligning our offerings with the newly published recommended Core Competencies for the Practice of Fire Protection Engineering and our soon-to-be-launched online LMS.

We are starting this year off by forming three specific teams which are:

  • Active Fire Protection: Fire Alarm and Detection (Certificate Program)
  • Understanding Human Behavior in Fire (eLearning)
  • Principles of Fire Protection (Update)

Why join a team?

  • Recognition amongst your peers and colleagues
  • Contribute to the Fire Protection Engineering Society
  • Opportunities to instruct on behalf of SFPE

As a member of the development teams, you will be tasked with working together with existing members of the CCD subcommittee to outline scope, learning objectives, course materials, and assessment tools throughout the duration of the project. Project timelines will be established by the teams to develop materials over a span of approximately 12 to 18 months.

If you are interested in joining any of the three Content Development Teams, please contact Louis Guerrazzi, Manager of Professional Development, and copy Phil Gunning, Chair of Course Content and Delivery Subcommittee and specify which of the three teams you are interested in joining.

For those of you interested in formally joining the CCD subcommittee, more information on their scope is found here and the application to the committee can be found here.
