Student Chapters

The Society has 17 student chapters internationally that work to advance the mission of the Society on a local level. Many of the SFPE chapters offer scholarships to aid in fire protection engineering education in their communities. Students participate in a wide range of programs and activities that enhance their college experience and prepare them for successful careers. Moreover, these chapters provide fire protection students with the opportunity to network with other students, develop leadership skills, promote the profession on campus and explore career development opportunities.

If you don't see a student chapter at your academic institution and are interested in starting one, please contact Julie Gordon, SFPE Director of Membership and Chapter Relations and we will help you get one started.

"The SFPE Student Chapter in Edinburgh offered the possibility to institutionalize and organize the current dynamic, social and academic movement among the students who are pursing courses in fire safety related degrees,” said Juan P. Hidalgo President of the University of Edinburgh SFPE Student Chapter. "The Student Chapter provides advice and support to undergraduate and postgraduate students on their research work, as well as collaboration opportunities and social activities.”
