A Student Member shall be enrolled full-time in an engineering curriculum or an engineering technology curriculum and not have full-time employment. Proof of student status is required annually in addition to a completed student application. All applicants
must supply the following information: expected graduation date, degree and school name. To qualify as a student member, you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate programs) in degree programs or recognized colleges

CREDIT HOUR REQUIREMENT
Undergraduate Students (Bachelor's Degree)
12 credit hours per semester
Graduate/Doctoral Students (Master's Degree & Ph.D.)
9 credit hours per semester
Other full time student or not meeting the minimum requirement
||must submit letter from your University registrar stating you are currently enrolled as a full- time student.
In order to complete your student membership application, you will be required to submit verification of your full-time status. These are the only documents that will be accepted in verifying your full-time student status:
- A screen shot or copy of your current class schedule with the name of the institution, name of the student, date and number of credit hours currently taking; or
- Copy of a letter from the institution's registrar on university letterhead specifying that the applicant is currently enrolled as a full time student.
Student Membership is FREE to all full-time students.
Graduated Dues Program
SFPE offers discounted membership dues to its student members. SFPE continues to support student members upon graduation by providing a significant dues discount, for a maximum
of three years following graduation (full details about the Recent Graduate dues structure are available here).
Intended to support talented students studying engineering, these scholarships are made possible through generous contributions from SFPE members, SFPE Foundation, chapters,
corporations and friends of SFPE.
