Dear colleagues,
Welcome to this year’s second issue. For this issue, we have taken advantage of the recent SFPE conference in Hawaii — the articles presented in this issue were presented there. All the SFPE conferences are an invaluable source of information for us in the preparation of the magazine, but even more so for the practitioners in the fire safety community.
In this issue, you will find four interesting articles, all very different but still part of what we would expect to be the day-to-day activities of a fire safety engineer. Our profession is varied, and articles like these are proof of that. I am certain that you will pick up something new that will serve you in your projects.
Finally, I would like to encourage our readers to consider contributing articles to our publication. If you feel that you have an important subject that you would like to tell the industry about, do not hesitate to contact us so we can make this happen. We would like to receive more articles from readers of the magazine — the percentage of articles being sent to us it quite low compared to the number of articles identified by our editorial board as being of interest to you.
As always, a huge thanks to the people who have put in a lot of time and effort to make this issue a reality.
