Fire Protection Engineer

Montgomery, Alabama

A large, national A&E firm providing design and engineering services for a variety of buildings and projects across the nation. They specialize in the design of commercial, healthcare, and public facilities, nationally and internationally. This position offers complete benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan. Located in Montgomery, Alabama; This is a full time, permanent position.

Scope:  

• Full design of fire alarm systems and fire suppression systems for large institutional and commercial buildings
• Perform life safety code analysis
• Perform fire protection design
• Conduct hydraulic calculations and water demand analysis
• Design system lay-out, wet-pipe, dry-pipe, dry chemical, and foam systems

Qualifications:  

• BS Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
• P.E. License or the ability to gain in 6 months
• Knowledge of Life Safety Code Analysis
• Must have at least 5 years in Fire Alarm Design and Fire Suppression (Sprinkler) experience
• Working knowledge of NFPA standards and state fire codes
• Must have experience in design and layout of fire sprinkler systems
• Must have experience in performing and reviewing hydraulic calculations
• Must have experience designing special hazard systems
• AutoCAD a plus
• Elite Software "Fire" a plus
