Hi to All,
Well we begin 2006 with hope and excitement for what the year will bring. I sincerely hope the New Year brings us all happiness and good health.
We begin our chapter year with a tour of the fantastic Fire Museum of Memphis. If you have not yet had an opportunity to visit his amazing Memphis Showcase please make sure you make this meeting. If you have already been to the museum, this will provide you a chance to see the extensive exhibits again and maybe see items you missed during an earlier visit. The meeting will be held on January 17 at 3:00PM (see the attached meeting notice). Priscilla Neale, who works from the museum and is our new Chapter Secretary, invites all to come to this great museum.
The Chapter Officers have arranged for some great meetings for this winter and spring schedule. We hope these meetings will be of interest to all. We are in the final phases of planning a joint February meeting with the Memphis Area Fire Protection Association which will provide a presentation on flexible sprinkler system piping systems. As we finalize this meeting we will pass information regarding this meeting on to you all. Other winter and spring meetings will include presentations on the Ansul Sapphire Fire Suppression system which uses the revolutionary liquid fire suppression fluid NOVEC 1230, presentation on galvanized piping used for dry pipe sprinkler systems and a discussion on the remediation of Microbiologically Induced Corrosion. Other topics are being developed for the remaining meeting schedule. Please review the annual meeting schedule included in the attached Excel spreadsheet and mark your calendar with these dates. Remember, if anyone would like to assist in developing meeting topics please let me know. If there are topics you would like to see covered please contact me or any chapter officer.
Some other chapter matters we need to discuss; PLEASE send in your annual $20.00 Chapter Dues prior to the end of January but no later then the end of February. You can contact Majid Hatamzadeh, Chapter Treasurer, at (901) 526-1181 to see how best to send him a check or you can bring it to the January meeting.
Well this year should be an exciting year for the chapter with many interesting meeting topics being planned. The chapter is positioned for further growth but we can only have a great chapter with all of you participating and helping out. So please plan to attend as many meetings as you can, assist in the efforts and in the operation of the chapter and help the chapter to grow in membership.
