The 2008 SFPE Professional Development Conference and Exposition: The Annual meeting provides an opportunity to learn new developments in fire protection engineering. This year SFPE will feature the 2nd annual two-day engineering technology conference featuring advanced and cutting-edge presentations on practices in fire protection engineering that are used to protect people and property from fire. Following the conference is the Engineering Technology Exposition and a series of seminars taught by the profession's leaders.
Call for Presentations for the Two-Day Engineering Technology Conference
The Society is seeking high quality presentations of cutting-edge engineering practice and tools. Selected presenters will join other leaders in the profession to create a unique educational experience that is designed to keep members of SFPE one step ahead. Keynotes Presenters that will lead the conference are: Dr. Kazunori Harada, Japan, Dr. Barbara Lane, United Kingdom, David A. Lucht, P.E., USA, Dr. James A. Milke, USA, Wayne D. Moore, P.E., USA, and Jon Nelson, USA.
Presentations will be selected based on quality and relevance to advancing fire protection engineering practice. Abstracts should be approximately one page and provide sufficient details regarding scope, results, and applications to determine the quality and applicability of the engineering concepts that would be presented. Presentations should be noncommercial in nature.

The two-day engineering technology conference will be held in conjunction with the SFPE Professional Development Conference and Exposition: The Annual Meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina, October 13-14, 2008.

Reservations must be made Friday, September 19, 2008 in order to receive the SFPE room rate and to be assured room availability. Individuals are responsible for making their own reservations.
