The SFPE Foundation and co-hosting partner, National Research Council Canada, are excited to announce the 2026 Emerging Energy Technologies Summit. Hosted in Ottawa, Canada, this three-day event anticipates 150+ attendees made up of fire protection engineers, students, researchers, fire service, authorities having jurisdiction, and other stakeholders. All proceeds from this event will fund future FPE research projects.

As the global transition to renewable energy accelerates, the fire protection engineering community faces unprecedented challenges. From nuclear to hydrogen fuel infrastructure and large-scale photovoltaic arrays, the risks associated with emerging energy technologies require innovative engineering solutions and collaborative safety standards.

This conference will serve as a forum for researchers, engineers, AHJs, and technology developers to share data-driven insights and advance the state of the art in fire safety for the global energy transition.
