We invite researchers, professionals, and experts to submit abstracts for our upcoming SFPE European Conference & Expo. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your innovative projects, cutting-edge research, and valuable insights in the fire protection and safety engineering field.
The abstract submission process allows the SFPE Program Committee to select presentations and posters for inclusion in the conference program. It will enable them to identify relevant and high-quality content that aligns with the objectives and highly technical focus of the conference.
Presentation abstracts should provide sufficient scope and results to determine the quality and applicability of the engineering concepts that would be presented. Presentations must be noncommercial in nature. All abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of experts and independently rated. The highest-rated abstract will be awarded the Top Abstract Award and featured in the conference's general session.
The Program Committee encourages presentations on all fire safety topics, including case studies. The Committee strongly encourages submissions on:
Ø Fire safety related to energy efficiency and emerging technologies (ESS, photovoltaic panels, flammable refrigerants, electric vehicles, etc.).
Ø The application of performance-based design for timber construction projects
Ø Building envelope (cladding, facades, etc.)
Ø Fire Safety innovation and solutions for existing / cultural / heritage buildings.
Ø Probabilistic methodologies applied in a fire safety design
Ø Structural fire protection engineering (performance-based) methodologies
Ø How fire and life safety performance should be measured and verified
Ø Human behavior & evacuation (anthropometric studies, social distancing, mass evacuation, etc.)
Ø The application of models in performance-based design (fire, human behavior, structural)
Ø Use of performance-based design within Fire Safety Regulation Frameworks
Ø Sustainability & Resilience
Ø Digitalization & Artificial Intelligence
Submittal Requirement:
The submission should identify the a) title, b) topic being addressed, c) approach or methodology, and d) design implications or results and recommendations. References and citations shall be identified in the abstract. All abstracts must be submitted via the online submission system before the published deadline. The conference language is English. Authors can submit any amount of abstracts, but only one highest-scoring abstract can be presented in front of the audience by each author. You will receive an automated confirmation of your successful submission.
If accepted for presentation, all authors will be notified by December 4, 2024.
If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact at education@sfpe.org. We look forward to your submissions and selecting the best abstracts for presentation showcasing your work at the conference in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
The Top-rated abstract will be selected by the Committee and recognized at the Conference.
Thank you for your interest and support!
