The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) is currently seeking those working in the field of fire protection engineering to participate in a Professional Activities and Knowledge Study.
The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Survey (NCEES) will use the results provide by licensed engineers to develop the specification, for the Fire Protection Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam beginning in 2018. SFPE will use the results from all respondents, including licensed and unlicensed engineers, to inform a professional competency model for the profession. Both of these efforts are critical to engineering a fire safe world.
Participants will complete an online survey about the various professional activities and knowledge/skills required of a fire protection engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience. The survey can be completed in approximately 15-25 minutes.
