In 2018, SFPE established the Emerging Professionals (EPS) as a subcommittee to the Continuing Professional Development Committee. The goal of EPS is to engage members who are early in their career by providing opportunities for networking, guidance, and continuing education. Additionally, EPS aims to advocate for their members to ensure wider representation amongst the other SFPE committees and the profession at large.
Emerging Professionals is comprised of SFPE members who are new to the profession and wish to network and meet other young professionals. Emerging Professionals is the place to share ideas, facilitate SFPE's mentoring program, plan networking events, and other activities that benefit and support aspiring engineer and those new to the profession.

Do you know an emerging fire protection engineer or fire safety engineer who is doing exception work and deserves recognition?
SFPE is seeking talented individuals in the Fire Protection Engineering community who work at any level in the industry and who has had an impact in the field or within the society. The nominee should exhibit qualities such as leadership, volunteerism, and professional growth. Nominees should display a commitment to helping shape the future of our industry beyond just personal development or the growth/success of their employer. You can nominate a colleague, or someone else whom you know. You may also nominate yourself (the nominators won’t be made public).
- Nominees can be from anywhere in the world.
- Nominees must be under 35 years of age as of January 1, 2022.
- Nominees should exhibit the characteristics identified above: leadership, community leadership and professional growth.
