Call for nominations
The Society of Fire Protection Engineers Canada / Association des ingénieurs enprotection incendie Canada (SFPE Canada) has been recently established as a regional division of SFPE and its members consist of the SFPE Canadian Chapters and SFPE. SFPE Canada’s mission is to define, develop, and advance the use of fire protection engineering best practices; educate the fire safety community to reduce fire risk, and be the leaders in the fire protection engineering profession across Canada. This is an exciting initiative to establish a leading organisation for fire protection engineers across Canada and collaborate on issues of national importance.
To achieve this mission, the organisation is seeking applications from individuals to serve a two-year term on its inaugural Board of Directors. The positions sought are as follows
- Chair-Elect (2-year term that automatically advances to Chair (2-years) and Past Chair (2 years)
- Secretary (2-year term)
- Director-at-Large (3 positions for a 2-year term)
Below are some of the basic qualifications for the SFPE Canada Board of Directors. A full list of the required qualifications can be found in the Annex of the application form in the link below.
SFPE Canada Board Members' Basic Requirements
- A current and active member of SFPE in good standing.
- Demonstrated leadership in the fire safety industry. This should be demonstrated clearly through professional experience, and involvement with the fire protection industry through SFPE and/or related organisations.
- Commitment to participate in SFPE Canada meetings both in-person and online as necessary.
