A Message from the SFPE Europe Chair 

Dear SFPE Europe members and all those interested in Fire Safety,

Networking and lifelong learning are essential ingredients for success as a fire protection engineer. I am pleased to highlight two major upcoming opportunities for both.

In Europe, the SFPE Engineering Solutions Symposium: Addressing European Lithium-Ion Battery Fire Safety Challenges will take place on 11–13 November 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. Across the Atlantic, the SFPE Annual Conference & Expo will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on 21–23 October 2025. Both of these events are excellent opportunities to network and learn about the latest developments in our profession.

Another milestone to look forward to in 2025 is the release of the sixth edition of the SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering, the most comprehensive and authoritative reference in our field.

Finally, I am pleased to share that Wojciech Wegrzynski has been elected by the SFPE Europe General Assembly as the next Chair of SFPE Europe. He will serve as Chair-Elect until 1 January 2025, when he formally begins his term for 2025–2026.
