All,
Finally time for the Q2 issue, a bit delayed but finally here.
It’s vacation time and many of you are enjoying vacation with family and friends. However, there is always some time for interesting “technical” reading.
You already know that we have put a strong focus on Emerging technologies and on Sustainability in our articles, this issue is no exception. This is something the industry needs and we as practitioners need to stay up to date with the ongoing development, it is necessary to stay competent to be able to develop fire safe solutions. The main aim and purpose of this magazine is to make it easier for our readers to stay knowledgeable and in that way increase competence within the profession.
Fire engineers are now in many projects tasked with dealing with sustainable solutions, and within the design teams’ sustainability has become a high priority. For us as practitioners it is necessary to have the correct tools to be able to make decisions and compare solutions. The first article is specifically focused on that subject.
The other articles are all worth a closer look and I am certain they are useful and interesting for most of you out there dealing with fire safety and risk management on your projects.
I would also like to congratulate all the SFPE award recipients; these people are helping the profession to move forward and specifically helping SFPE being the association that fire safety profession needs.
Enjoy and learn from the articles in this issue, I certainly did.
If there are readers out there that feel that you have an important subject that you would like to share with the industry do not hesitate to contact us, we can make that happen.
As always, a great thanks to the people who have put in a lot of time and effort to make this issue a reality.
The next issue will come in September.
I hope all of you will have a great summer.
Yours sincerely,

Jimmy Jönsson, Managing Editor
