Finally, it’s time for our second issue, it comes a bit late but just in time for those finishing off their summer vacations and that have been looking forward to read some good articles.
It has been a summer with a lot of wildfires globally and it seems like we can still expect some more. The SFPE has been involved with WUI related projects for the last few years and just a few days ago, August 19th, the SFPE Foundation released the WUI Virtual Handbook for Fire Risk Assessment, Second Edition. The WUI Virtual Handbook was developed through the support of a Federal Emergency Management Agency Fire Prevention & Safety Grant. Well worth reading for those involved with WUI projects.
I will not go into any details about the articles, but I would like to mention the one about “Fire Frequency for EVs Practice”, it is important to understand how new technologies impacts our living and it is difficult to find and accurately compile data, the result from this study is quite interesting.
If there are readers out there that feel that you have an important subject that you would like to share with the industry do not hesitate to contact us, we can make that happen.
