SFPE Foundation Appoints Board Governors

SFPE Foundation Appoints Phil Friday, Lainey Liotta, and Margaret S. McNamee to Board of Governors

 
 
May 2, 2024: GAITHERSBURG, Maryland – The SFPE Foundation, a charitable non-profit organization focused on enhancing the scientific understanding of fire and its interaction with the social, natural, and built environments, announces the appointment of three new Governors to its Board of Governors.

The 
new Governors, whose terms take effect May 1, include:
 

  • Phil Friday, PE, FSFPE, Director, Engineering Applications & Innovation, The Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Co. Inc.
  • Lainey Liotta, Sr. Fire Protection Marketing Manager, Lubrizol Advanced Materials, Inc.
  • Margaret S. McNamee, PhD, Professor of Fire Safety Engineering, Lund University, Division of Fire Safety Engineering

We’re excited to welcome Phil, Lainey, and Margaret to the SFPE Foundation Board of Governors. Together, they bring an impressive wealth of expertise in a diverse range of subject matter areas, as well as a long track record of success in research, applied engineering methods, and engineering communications to the Foundation’s work,” stated Leslie Marshall, Ph.D., Director, SFPE Foundation. “But even more than that, they each bring a sense of excitement and commitment to supporting the Foundation’s vision of engineering a more resilient, sustainable, fire-safe world for all.”  

The SFPE Foundation also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of outgoing Governors Kerry Bell, PE, FSFPE, Casey C. Grant, PE, FSFPE, and Joseph Talbert, PE, FSFPE.
